From the pub if you bear left you can take in two lovely walks onto the moors or into the Bluebell Woods (named after the fantastic blue carpet the flowers provide in late spring).
Bear left at the pub and walk through the lower part of the village. Do not follow the road hard right up the hill, rather follow the road straight and continue down the hedge-flower fringed road. You shall come upon the woodland after 2/3 mile. The woodlands and spring can be explored and the road will take you to the main Plympton/Lee Moor road.
Bear left at the pub and walk through the lower part of the village. Follow the road hard right up the hill and continue on this road as it passes the beautiful Galva house with its views down to Plymouth Sound. Keep going and you shall pass the trout lake on your right hand side, coming to Drakelands house where the road ends and track up to the moors begins. It is a short walk from here onto the Moors with spectacular views of Plymouth, Lee Moor, the Sound, and Hemerdon Mine.
