In 2003, Paul and I took the reins of the Miners Arms and began the massive undertaking of bringing this ‘sleeping tiger’ into the 21st century. The Miners Arms was in the Honey family for 163 years and the landlord we took over from, David Honey, and I are cousins. I have fond memories of long days spent playing in the original swing park with my younger sister (at the time children under the age of 14 were not allowed in the bar!). So much has changed since then but is very special watching our two daughters, Cameron and Charlotte, play together with as much laughter as we did all those years ago.
Thanks to the support of our locals, the wider local community and our committed staff, the Miners Arms has become recognised as a major player on South West food and drink scene.
When you visit the Miners Arms we always want to make you feel welcome and relaxed. We strive to provide a friendly, efficient service and serve delicious food that is fantastic value, locally sourced and unpretentious. Life is for living, food is to be enjoyed.
